Eat Your Way To Longer Eyelashes

Eat Your Way To Longer Eyelashes

We all know that food plays a super important part in our overall health and well being.

And what we eat is also a huge factor when it comes to our looks.  Our diet affects our skin, our hair, our nails and of course our figure.

But did you know that certain food can also affect our eyelashes???

Yup, those tiny bits of hair attached to your eyes are just as sensitive to what you eat,  as the long, thick hair on your head.

Eating certain types of food is good for our lashes because they make them healthier, longer and thicker.

Here are a few of them :

  1. Aside from it tasting so good, salmon is one of the best foods you can eat. It has tons of health benefits and one of these directly affects your lashes. Salmon is packed with exceptional amounts of protein. And our hair, including our lashes, is mostly made up entirely  of protein. So you’ll need more protein to grow them.
  1. You know how some people use egg as a hair mask? Well it’ll also work just as well for your lashes.  Eggs are loaded with Biotin, that must-have ingredient for hair growth and a healthy scalp. They are also super rich in protein, the most important nutrient for the hair. There’s no need to make it into a mask for your lashes though. Eating eggs any which way will work for your lashes just as well.
  1. Oysters are a great source of zinc. And zinc keeps the scalp healthy and nourishes the hair follicles to keep them working properly. Not getting enough zinc can cause hair loss and slow down hair growth.  Oysters also contain iron which helps the hair adhere to its roots and prevents fallout. The same nutrients work for your eyelashes as well. So getting a sufficient dose of oysters will do wonders for your lashes.
  1. SPINACH OR KALE . Green leafy veggies don’t only keep you healthy. They also make your lashes much more attractive.  Spinach is so rich in vitamins and minerals like vitamins A B, C, and E, potassium, iron, folate, omega 3 fatty acids, calcium, and magnesium, all of which help in the healthy hair growth of your eyelashes. Mom was right when she said veggies were good for you!
  1. If you Got Milk then drink up! Because milk is awesome for your lashes. It’s rich in folic acid which prevents hair loss and makes it grow longer. Plus, the fact that folic acid stimulates melanin production is a big bonus because melanin makes your lashes grow darker.  Long, thick, dark lashes? What more could you ask for?
So the next time you take a trip to the supermarket, make sure to have these items in your grocery list. You’ll be doing both your health and your eyelashes a big favor.
