For centuries, long dark lashes were a symbol of the feminine beauty of the highest order. Proof of this can be found in the lashes of the women in famous paintings, like that of Dora Maar, Picasso’s lover. Times haven’t changed much since then.
What’s the deal with lashes?
Since the beginning of time, long, luscious lashes were considered attractive because they were a sign of overall health. Of course, these lashes weren’t even safe from the male gaze.
Eyelashes were historically associated with chastity, a much-coveted virtue at the time. Pliny the Elder, a natural philosopher, once jokingly suggested that eyelashes could fall if the woman was having too much sex. Thanks, Pliny. We will leave the “slut-shaming” back where it belongs (in the Roman Empire).
Studies today show that lashes are said to create the illusion of wide, gazing eyes which are considered very attractive and pleasing. They create a sense of symmetry. And, not to mention, fluttering those long, luscious lashes create a movement around the eye that holds the attention of the viewer.
Beyond that, the colorful squares of Instagram can be seen flaunting pictures of augmented lashes on the faces of the Kardashians, Hadids, and other beautiful women.
Biologically, our eyelashes serve an even greater purpose. In the Scientific American, David Hu, a mechanical engineer at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, said, "They've been hypothesized to act as sun shades, dust catchers and blink-reflex triggers.”
Our eyelashes are essential to our body and provide us a means for self-expression. For that reason, ForChics wanted to create a natural way to enhance our eyelashes that is both good for us, and the world around us. A more conscious alternative to lash extensions or falsies. So, without further ado, there is ForLash!

These are the benefits of ForLash:
- Noticeable improvement in as little as 3 weeks
- Easy and quick application process
- No stinging, burning or discoloration
- Safe for all ages and skin types
- Strengthens lashes with the help of our proprietary growth complex
How to Apply
- Remove all makeup and residue. Keep in mind, oil-based makeup removers and cleansers can leave behind a film which may create a barrier between your lashes and the lash conditioner. It’s important to wash off any residue.
- Apply a thin line of ForLash in a swiping motion to the top-side of your lashes. A small amount goes a long way, one thin stroke per day is all that is required to get the desired results. Allow lashes to dry before proceeding with skincare and makeup routines.
- Use Daily! ForLash works best when used consistently. Apply daily for best results. If you forget one day, no worries. Just remember to apply the next day!
This is What We Are Made Of
At ForChics, we carefully selected all of the ingredients in our serums to boost hair growth, while maintaining a vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free formula:
Biotin: Helps to build proteins needed to maintain youthful hair and skin, including keratin and promotes hair growth while reducing hair loss/shedding.
Castor Seed Oil: Helps to prevent and remedy hair loss and supports the natural keratin which strengthens the hair. It also contains omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, which nourishes hair and encourages new growth and thicken existing strands.
Yeast Extract: Acts on three regulation mechanisms of hair regrowth: the mitochondrial dynamics, the expression of signaling molecules and the components of epigenetics. Thus supports the biological activity of the dermal papilla and stimulates the growth of the hair follicle.
Sugar Cane Plant Extract: Skin Conditioner and pH regulator. Shows an outstanding, broadband antimicrobial activity.
Propanediol: A biobased (i.e. plant-based) glycol produced by a fermentation process of glucose derived from corn. This unique ingredient can be used as a natural alternative to petroleum-derived glycols in hair products. With its humectant, water drawing properties, it works as an excellent moisturizer for the hair.
