What's Your Skincare Routine Must Haves?

What's Your Skincare Routine Must Haves?

New or old to skincare, this beauty buzz term can mean different things to different people.

Each person has different needs to their skin so there's no need to force yourself to do what others are doing or using. With all the trends and options available in the beauty market today, it is normal to feel a bit intimidated. Lucky for you, Chics, we’ve listed down some practical skincare regimens we believe will help you along the world of skincare and help you start, update or even downsize your own routine.

It all begins with knowing the basics.

There’s no one-size-fits-all skincare routine. We all know that our basic goal for doing skin care is to make our skin look, feel, and function at its best. Remember, LESS IS MORE. You don’t need to push yourself to buy and use all sorts of products all at once to achieve better results. To get the most benefit out of a daily skincare regimen, no matter what your skin type, go slow and steady and focus on these three simple steps: cleanse, treat, and moisturize.

Here is the best dermatologist-approved daily skincare routine for morning or night that should be in every at-home regimen.

1. Cleanse

Face cleansing should be the first step in any skincare routine. A good cleanser is the cornerstone of any good skincare routine. If you’re not able to take off dirt, oils, and make up, all that gunk can clog your pores and make your skin dry. Clean pores are healthy pores, so look for a gentle cleanser that does the job of removing impurities without disrupting your skin’s pH balance.

2. Treat

You’re probably already familiar with cleansing and moisturizing, but what does “treating” your skin involve? It means using toners, serums or creams packed with ingredients like vitamin C, retinol, hydroxy acids, and others.

With so many ingredients and products out there, we seem to forget a few important facial parts that need some TLC too – our eyes. Aside from eye creams (which we suggest be a part of your routine), think about your facial hair care needs too! Keep in mind that our brows and lashes should be part of our skincare routine and some hair-care products are intended to be used daily as well. They should go through the same basic care steps and treating them shouldn’t be forgotten.

Treatment you say? Yes! Your eyebrows and eyelashes need to be treated too and we just got the serums to help protect, nourish, and lengthens them – ForLash™ Eyelash Enhancing Serum and ForBrow™ Eyebrow Enhancing Serum

3. Moisturize

Next come heavier formulas like moisturizer, which keeps skin hydrated and helps strengthen its barrier. Unless you have dry skin, opt for a lighter moisturizer for daytime use. Lastly, don’t forget sunscreen! It’s the most important step in any skincare routine for every skin type and age. Protecting your skin from the sun is important even if you’re spending your days indoors. There are a lot of moisturizers available that already have SPF.

And there you have it, Chics! But with every routine comes great commitment!

Consistency is key. Because newsflash! It’s not called a routine for nothing! It’s important to examine your lifestyle (which we’ll discuss later) and your priorities before putting a regimen in place. Thankfully, it’s really easy to start with a basic routine as it usually takes just about five to ten minutes of your time in the morning and at night.
